Thick strong powerful body frame. Strong legs and large features throughout. Starts his swing with a base little wider than shoulder width apart. Bow legged knees with back foot turned bat to catcher. Back knee appears to also bow out. Has a tap from front foot rhythm to his timing in his load up. Hands start at ear level. Small trigger to his load up. Flat bat start, gets good extension in bat path getting to front side with good bat speed. Line drive hard-hitting barrel. Aggressive and strong approach. Rodriguez showed good footwork, agility and coordination as an outfielder. Throws had carry and accuracy to them. As a pitcher, his delivery started from the far right side of the rubber with a short side step start. Hands were up by face with a mid-belt to chest hand pump. Has an h ¾-arm slot. Compact quick delivery as a thrower now first, will develop more finesse and feel to pitch as more mound time is developed. Command and control is good. More angle and tilt to off speed pitches will come in over time. Showed a spilt action pitch that had good tumble down action. Quick worker. Velocity needs a boost soon for next level. Competed well. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. FB 78-82, CB 72-75, CH 68-72, Split 74-75.
Dillon Rodriguez: RHP/OF, (2022) Valparaiso, IN. 5-foot-10, 175-pound lean frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 80 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a wrapping load, then used a long stride before his swing. A level swing plane. He found some barrels during his rounds. Pu side approach. From the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 81 mph; had firm hands. Used a long arm action and a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.37. On the mound, has a high ¾ arm angle. drop-and-drive type pitcher. Showed a strong balance point with in line shoulders. Curveball (64-67 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 78-79 mph with a max of 80 mph; had glove side accuracy. He shows some action on his changeup (68-72).
