9/4/14 Labor Day Challenge: After going 3-for-5 in the first game, the 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed hitting shortstop ranked No. 27 in Indiana’s 2016 class introduced himself to Southern Illinois in a big way by smashing a three-run home run to right field in the first inning. In the first game, Franklin collected three hits, including a triple down the right field line. He also scored three runs and drove in one. Defensively, he played a flawless shortstop, including making several plays deep in the hole.

8/3/14 Future Games: Franklin showcased athletic def actions, projects as an offensive 2B at the next level. Produced a 95 mph exit velo.  Showed the ability to drive the gaps with occasional HR power.  

6/25/14: 
6 foot, 175 pounds, L/R, 4.31-H-1st with an 87 mph bat exit speed. Strong athletic hitter that can make adjustments and hit off speed pitches. Hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and an explosive level swing, will hit for power. He battles at the plate. Possesses soft hands, fluid feet and a clean ball transfer. Plays hard and has a good feel for his position.

2/22/14:
 6-foot, 175 pound sophomore possesses a strong, athletic frame.  In the field showcased good rhythm and actions with plus hands.  Picks it clean.  Short arm action with average arm strength across the diamond (77 mph).  At the plate hits from the left side with a slightly open setup.  Starts tall and balanced.  Hands are quick.  Showcased present power to right-center.  Overall good rhythm throughout the swing.  Swing is repeatable.
