4/11/17:  GAME NOTES - Uncommitted 6-foot-3, 225 pound multi-sport athlete threw a complete game shutout versus #7 ranked Lafayette Jeff while giving up just two hits.  The two-way prospect sat 84-86 touching 87 with the fastball.  Held 83-85 late into game.  Showcased two different breaking balls, the curveball has 11/5 shape with plenty of depth at 72-75mph.  The slider has more 10/4 shape with late depth to it.  Uses both to draw big swing and misses, but went to the slider later on to share space with the fastball.  Wade strikeout 7 hitters, mainly with the off-speed.  Works ahead consistently, throwing 23 first pitch strikes out of 24 hitters.  Delivery is repeatable with a clean arm swing and good rhythm.  Front leg braces well and finishes with intent.  Body is very matured but could easily see more velocity in the future with his strength and athleticism.  Fields position well and controls the pace of play.  High follow in 2018 class.

2/26/17:
The 6-foot-3, 225 pound right-handed pitcher has a stocky, projectable frame.  Thick legged, lower half used very well down the mound.  Smooth rhythm, room to add more velocity with increased feel on the mound.  Fastball sat 82-85, hitting 85 several times.  Expect to see that velocity climb soon.  Plus command on both sides of the plate at the knees.  Curveball has 11/5 shape with late depth at 70-72.  Slider has more 10/4, lateral movement with some depth at 73-75.  Change-up was 72-76 with near fastball arm speed and late fade.  Slider is best out pitch, with curveball potentially being a plus out pitch as well.  Long, clean arm action with athletic finish in line.  High follow in 2018 class.

2/19/17:
A physical, 6-foot-3, 225-pound specimen, Wade shows proportional strength throughout his body with broad shoulders. In the field, his hands are not plus, but they are more than adequate, and while his feet can get heavy (at times) he moves around with above average athleticism given his size. Wade’s strong arm (85 mph) will allow him to stick at third base at the next level, and his powerful stroke (93 mph exit velocity) will give him a chance to hit for some power. At the plate, Wade sets up with a wide base with his hands just below his ear. From there he rocks his hands back before showing strength through the zone on a level to upward plane. When at his best, Wade uses the middle of the field and works gap to gap. He shows some present pull side power. At times, Wade’s hands can get away from his body before coming through the zone which can cause him to get a bit long in a scoopy pattern. However, the balance and strength that he exhibits leads to an easy projection of a middle of the order hitter at some level. Where Wade becomes even more valuable is on the mound. Looking like an infielder who really wants to compete, Wade smoothly repeats a compact motion before delivering out of a high ¾ slot. Wade ran his fastball up to 87 mph, and that number should go up as the spring turns into summer. Wade has some feel for a straight changeup (72-76), but the difference maker is his slider. Wade has a sharp, late-biting slider with tilt that he throws 73-75 that will have a chance to get multiple swings and misses at some level.

6/7/16

6-foot-3, 215-pound strong, athletic frame. Impressed both in batting practice and in game play with his ability to swing the bat. Has a fluid swing initiated by a short stride forward. Hands move back during his stride before taking a level path to the ball. Produced backspin on his line drives during batting practice and recorded multiple hits during the games. Had a top exit velocity of 92 mph and ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Has smooth actions in the infield with obvious confidence in his glove. Average lateral mobility at this stage. Could end up at third base at the next level with his size and offensive ability.

3/28/16:
6-foot-3, 205 pound righty pitched 1 1/3 innings finishing with two strikeouts, 1 walk while allowing 4 hits and 4 runs.  Fastball was up to 85, sitting 82-84.  Pitches from a 3/4 slot, short arm action. Stays in line to the plate.  Good rhythm in the delivery.  Breaking ball sat 71-74 from an 11/5 shape.

6/25/15:
The 6-foot-3 205 pound infielder possesses a strong, athletic frame.  Ran a 7.27 60 yard dash.  Kyle produced an exit velocity of 91.  Hits from a balanced setup, loads back.  Stride is short, good balance.  Possesses fast hands with a good approach.  Long, level path to the baseball, consistently barreled up the baseball showing projectable power.  On the mound, pitches from a 3/4 slot with average arm speed.  Long arm action with a slight stab on the backside.  Shows some rhythm in the delivery with level shoulders.  Good line to the plate.  Fastball sat 78-81 and thrown for strikes.  Breaking ball has 11/5 shape and gradual break at 67-70.

7/29/14:
6 foot 2 inches, 190 pounds, 7.42/60, Aggressive hitter that squares up pitches. Hits from a balanced stance with a short, smooth stride, fast bat speed with good extension through contact. At SS his arm is short and loose from multiple throwing angles. He has average hands with fluid feet and a clean ball transfer. On the mound his fastball is 77-79 mph with late sink and in the zone. Curveball is 64-69 mph. arm works easy.
