3/30/18 Spring Scout Blog: 6-foot-4, 205 pound right hander made start on mound, worked 2 innings, giving up 5 hits, allowing 4 runs, and walked 3. Athletic, big bodied righty worked regular effort down the mound with slight stab in the back, short arm swing where fastball sat 83-84, T85 in first start out of the season. Changeup was arm side at 74-75 with curveball showing gradual 10/4 break at 69-70. Fastball had some arm side life, struggled with command at times, secondary pitches not swing and miss. Hit 3rd in the lineup, big physical LH uphill swing, drove ball middle of the field, finished 2-4 at the plate, 1 R and 1 RBI. Good middle of the lineup bat that will drive in runs this season.
8/4/16:  The 6-foot-4, 205 pound athletic bodied righty showcases a clean lower half with quick arm action.  Slight stab still in separation.  Fastball sat 83-86, touching 87.  Breaking ball has early, gradual break with 11/5 shape at 63-66mph.  Change-up has slight fade, run at 68-70.  Body and delivery are very projectable on the mound.

9/20/15:
PITCHING- 6-foot-4, 210 pound right-hander throws from an over-the-top slot with quick arm speed.  Slight stab on the back side of the delivery.  Regular effort with smooth rhythm in the delivery.  Good direction to the plate with level shoulders. Finishes upright. Fastball was kept down in the zone at 81-84.  Breaking ball has gradual movement from a 10/4 shape at 63-66. 68-70 mph changeup was thrown with fastball arm speed showing arm side run.

CATCHING- Projectable frame at 6-foot-5, 210 pounds. Displayed good arm strength at 79 mph while popping between 2.22-2.30.  Needs to work on speeding up his transfer and getting into a throwing position quicker to let his arm speed work.  Needs to also work on balance and softer hands while receiving.  Offensively, hits from a wide, open setup and uses a slight leg kick.  Possesses good bat speed with a level path to the baseball.  Rhythm is a little choppy.  Line drive type hitter, recorded a high exit velocity of 85 mph off the tee.

7/29/14:
6 foot 4 inches, 180 pounds, L/R, 7.82/60, 2.23- 2.33 pop time, Athletic, young player, strong body with wide shoulders and narrow hips. Behind the plate he had average hands and moved well. He hits from a balanced stance with a short stride, aggressive hitter, he will hit for power as he continues to grow and get stronger. On the mound he was very confident, 77-80 mph fastball with hard downhill plain and consistently in the strike zone. Very projectable RHP.
