2017 Spring Scout Blog:  Purdue commit. 5-foot-11, 170 pound quick-twitch shortstop who also starts on the mound. Offensively, begins wide and balanced. Good rhythm with a slight load and minimal stride. Average bat speed with a level to slightly downhill plane. Quick and fast on the bases which could benefit from some adjustments in the approach. On the mound tossed eight innings striking out seven. Athletic here as well with a short arm swing, slightly uphill shoulders and a high 3/4 slot. Commanded fastball sat 79-81 in the first inning. Breaking ball flashed some depth at times with 11/5 shape. 

4/6/16 GAME NOTES: Haston is a young MIF that has SS potential at the next level. Plays the position with confidence and very fluid footwork. A loose 3/4 arm slot is accurate with some carry. Hands are soft, but flips the glove late at times. Did not record a hit on the evening. Setup is open with a short stride and average balance. A base hitter currently with potential for gap power. Interesting follow with defense as a current strength.
