1/6/2019: Zak York, C/3B, Harrison HS, 2022, 5 foot 10, 175 pounds, hits from a good balanced setup, but has early separation and carries his hands forward into foot strike. Swings downhill because of the hands carrying forward and had a max exit velo of 81. Behind the plate had a good transfer and a velocity of 73 to put up pop times 1.93-2.03. Fingers get on the side of the ball which is causing him to lose carry on his throws. If corrected, has a chance to throw really well behind the plate.
2/17/18: Athletic, 5-foot-10, 170 pound utility player showed advanced feel for his age in the batters box. High contact hitter with a simple swing, quick barrel. Uses all fields with more power to come as he matures. Defensively, he has sure hands with clean transfer. Athletic footwork, plays through the baseball. Throws topped 80 across the infield. On the mound, fastball sat 75-78 for strikes. Quick, short arm circle with average use of lower half. Good balance and rhythm. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with early break. High follow in the 2022 class.
