2014 KABC 4A-I Player of the Year
2014 Centennial League Player of the Year
2013 Topeka All-City - First Team
8/24/14 - Heinen was in total control in one inning of work at the Get Hits for Education All-Star Game with a fastball in the 85-88 mph range, hard 77-80 mph breaking ball and flashing a change-up at 80 mph.  Low three-quarters slot.  Loose, whippy arm action.  Tall and skinny with plenty of room to fill out.  Class of 2015 right-hander with present feel to pitch and high projection grade.
7/6/14 - In the Iguanas’ first game at Wichita State on Thursday, Heinen gave up back-to-back hits to start the game then proceeded to do the unimaginable – strike out the next 12 hitters.  The tall, thin, projectable righty throws with a loose low-three quarters arm slot and pounds the bottom of the zone with an 83-88 mph fastball and 73-76 slurve type breaking ball.  Thursday wasn’t a one time thing for Heinen, he was the  KABC 4A-I Player of the Year this past spring.
5/19/14 - Heinen is a lanky 6-foot-3, 145-pound right-hander for Topeka Hayden.  He uses a simple, relaxed delivery and throws with loose low three-quarter arm action.  His fastball was clocked in the 85-87 mph range showing occasional arm side run in on right-handed hitters and glove side cutting action away.  Heinen throws a slurve-type breaking ball at 67-69 that, when he got out-in-front with it, was an effective second pitch.  He also flashed a 70-72 mph change-up.  Heinen was named the KABC 4A-I Player of the year this past spring.
