2/24/18 - Burgess is a 5-foot-8 155-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 4.19 home to first and has an 84 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, small and smooth weight shift to the back side, simple and repeatable with no wasted movements, quick and loose hands through the hitting zone, slight natural lift at the end of the swing, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, athletic actions, quick over the top arm slot, no wasted time in transfer with soft hands, aggressive to the ball, 84 mph positional velo, accurate throws with carry.
5/31/16 - Burgess is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.08 and a 4.53 home-to-first.  He has an 80 mph exit velo. At the plate, barreled up balls consistently to the middle of the field during battng practice, loose and strong hands, quick bat speed, open stance, repeats swing, singled to left in game action.  On the infield, high three-quarters arm slot, quick footwork working with exchange, momentum towards first base to throw, accurate throws.
1/181/6 - Burgess is a 5-foot-7 140-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He runs a 4.50 home-to-first and has an exit velo of 81 mph.  At the plate, Burgess took a good round of batting practice, consistent line drives to middle of cage, loose hands, body stays under control, gap-to-gap approach, balanced stance with minimal load, in-line stride, balanced finish. On the infield, high ¾ release, quick feet, quick exchange and release, accurate throws, 76 mph positional vleo.  Projectable player in 2019 class.
11/1/15 - Burgess is a 5-foot-3 145-pound right-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.40 60 and a 4.56 home-to-first. Burgess has a gap-to-gap approach, with a short and compact swing, smooth load, quick hands, balanced finish, 76 mph exit velo. On the infield, 75 mph positional velo, made all the plays cleanly, quick catch and release, fluid work.  Will continue to trend upwards and he develops physically.
