2014 All-Centennial League - Honorable Mention
10/19/14 - Thomas is a strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. Balanced set-up at the plate, slightly open stance, short inline stride, smooth hand load, short bat path, compact swing with bat speed, balance throughout, 81 mph exit velocity. Worked middle of the field well in batting practice. Ran a 7.06 60-yard dash and 4.36 home-to-first from the right side, second best time in camp. In game action drove a triple into left center field and also recorded the hardest hit out of the game with an absolute laser to center field.  In the outfield showed athletic footwork, fielded everything cleanly, short high three-quarters arm action, throwing velocity 80 mph, mostly accurate throws.
6/18/14 - Thomas is an athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-hand hitting outfielder with some strength.  In the outfield, he made clean exchanges and threw with short, quick three-quarters arm action.  His top throw was clocked at 78 mph.  During batting practice he showed an athletic, balanced set up with a slightly closed stance.  He takes a very short stride and has no hand load.  He maintains balance throughout and finishing with extension.  It’s a very simple, line drive approach.  Thomas ran a 4.29 home-to-1B time, the second best right side time at the event.  Thomas was one of the top performers in the games as he collected three hits, including two doubles, and stole a base.  He’s a strong athlete and one of the top 2017 prospects in Kansas.

4/4/14 - It’s a rare deal when you see a freshman hitting in the 3-hole for a 6A high school but Topeka has just that in Corey Thomas.  The 5-foot-10, 160-pound Thomas does everything on the baseball field easy and athletic, always a big factor in attempting to project younger players.  He has a very simple, efficient right-handed swing and ran a 4.45 home-to-first base.  The center fielder is a prospect to follow as he continues to fill out and get stronger over the next few years.  Thomas will be playing for the Building Champions organization this summer.
