5/31/15 - Karnes is a 5-foot-11, 175-pound left-handed pitcher and right-hand hitting center fielder. Athletic frame with wide shoulders and some strength. Did not see him pitch but showed athletic actions and a strong arm during pre-game infield. Very aggressive right-handed swing at the plate. Strong sophomore campaign on the mound going 4-1 with one save and a 1.58 ERA, striking out 45 batters in 26.2 innings. Class of 2017 lefty to follow.

5/30/14 - Karnes is a promising 5-foot-11, 170-pound left-handed pitcher for Baxter Springs. He shows good early balance and throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a fastball in the 80-82 range. His fastball showed late sinking action down and away from right-handed hitters. Karnes also features a controllable breaking ball with slurve action to it. Just a freshman in high school, Karnes should be followed closely.
