2014 KABC 4A-I All-State - 1st Team
8/6/14 - Knopp is a thin, athletic 6-foot, 160-pound right-handed pitcher.  Deliberate, balanced delivery early.  Tall balance point, strides inline, athletic finish, body control throughout, repeats well.  Loose, natural three-quarters arm action, out front release point, arm works. Fastball with arm-side run, occasional late glove-side cutting action, 79-82 mph.  Controllable slurve type breaking ball, 62-65 mph.  Sinking change-up, 69-70 mph.  Athletic right-hander with easy arm, repeatable delivery, potential to develop plus command going forward.  14/21 strikes.
8/6/14 - Knopp is a thin, athletic 6-foot, 160-pound right-hand hitting catcher.  Offensively showed a tall set-up, open stance, inline stride and fluid hand load.  Easy, line drive swing, upper half dominant, short finish, generates bat speed – mid-oppo approach.  Exit velocity 85 mph, 4.28 home to first base from the right side.  Throwing to second base showed quick, athletic footwork, quick release and easy three-quarters throwing motion.  Throwing velocity high of 75 mph, pop times in the 1.94-2.03 range.  Mostly accurate throws.  In the game threw out runner with a 2.03 pop time.  Athletic and projectable class of 2015 prospect.
6/9/14 - Knopp is a thin, long-legged and athletic 6-foot, 150-pound class of 2015 right-handed pitcher from Fort Scott HS.  He throws from a three-quarters arm-slot with loose slinging-type arm action.  From the wind-up he has good rhythm and balance throughout using a high vertical knee lift.  From the stretch he works with a quick tempo and short knee lift.  His fastball registered in the 83-85 mph range and also showed a 68-70 breaking ball with, at times, tight slider spin and 76-78 change-up.  With his easy arm and thin, athletic frame there should be a lot more in the tank velocity-wise going forward.  Knopp worked out as a pitcher-only today, however he’s also a KABC 4A-I All-State First Team performer as a catcher.
