4/25/15 - Wiles is a strong, athletic 6-foot-4, 220-pound right-handed pitcher. MLB pitchers frame. Oklahoma commit and 2016 MLB Draft prospect. Body control and repeats delivery. Throws from tall balance point. Easy three-quarters arm action. Arm works. Fastball command, works both sides of the plate, 85-87 mph, touched 87 multiple times throughout the game. Fastball dominant pitch mix. Controllable breaking ball with 11/5 shape, 75-76 mph. Feel for mid-70’s change-up. Projection. Older brother Collin was the 53rd player taken in the 2012 MLB Draft.
6/18/14 - Wiles is a physical 6-foot-4, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. He showed a tall, repeatable delivery with excellent body control throughout and clean three-quarters arm action. He gets out-in-front with all pitches with ease. He threw his fastball in the 82-85 mph range with, at times, late cutting/sinking movement. He also features a controllable 11/5 breaking ball and 73-74 sinking change-up with fastball arm speed. Just a rising junior, Wiles already sports the ideal pitching prospect’s frame and delivery – combine that with his free and easy arm and there is likely much more in the tank velocity-wise going forward. In the game he notched two strikeouts in one inning of work. Wiles is not just a prospect that you have to imagine might do something some day, he’s already began to establish himself - this past spring he was the only sophomore to pitch for Blue Valley West’s loaded pitching staff, posting an ERA around 1.00.
