2/24/18 - Hochard is a 6-foot 185-pound right-handed hitting shortstop and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2020 class.  He ran a 4.47 home to first and has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, high leg lift with some hand load, loose and level path with extension, short stride, gap to gap approach.  On the infield, 73 mph positional velocity, quick catch and throw, fields ball in athletic position ready to throw, smooth and under control to the ball with clean transfer, high three quarters arm slot with quick release, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Hochard has a strong lower half, controlled body during delivery, smooth tempo with in line stride, consistent and repeatable release out front, high three quarters arm slot, fastball at 76-78 mph, breaking ball at 65-67 mph, 12-to-6 shape, change up at 71-74 mph, slight arm side run.
