6-foot, 184-pound LHP is the top uncommitted lefty in the 2017 class. Quick/loose arm action works through a high-3/4 slot with regular effort in delivery, excellent pitchability pounding the zone with all pitches, fastball shows occasional arm-side run with late life, curveball has tight spin and 1/7 action consistently at the bottom of the strike zone, excellent feel for very solid changeup with sink, slider showed similar action as curveball and wasn’t as hard as in the past.  Heil showed better velocity early in the high school season (84-86/87).
8/1/15 - Pitching for Team KY at the PBR Future Games, Heil had an impressive outing in throwing two scoreless innings. His showed an uptick in velocity with his fastball sitting 84-86 mph and showed good feel for his 68-71 mph curveball, 73 mph slider, and 69 mph changeup. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound lefty allowed one hit and struck out three in establishing himself as one of the top left-handers in the 2017 class.
6/16/15 - 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, has established himself as one of the top lefties in Kentucky’s 2017 class, works through a high-3/4 slot, repeats delivery well with regular effort, attacks hitters on both sides of the plate, fastball sat 82-84 mph, four-seam fastball shows some cut action, two-seamer shows arm-side run, , 68-69 mph curveball shows 1/7 action, throws a sharp 73-75 mph slider with swing-and-miss potential, pounds the zone with all pitches, allowed two hits to begin his first inning of work and then struck out the side, finished with four strikeouts in two innings of work.
10/4/14 - 5-foot-11, 167-pound prospect uses shorter arm action, ¾ to high-3/4 arm slot, arm shows quickness, lower half stays online, repeats delivery well with regular effort, fastball sat 79-83 mph touching 84 and showed significant arm-side run, good command of 65-68 mph curveball with 1/7 action, also flashed a 72 mph slider with more lateral action, good arm action on 70-72 mph changeup, good athlete on the mound, fields position well, throw strikes, allowed two hits and struck out two in two innings of work, good upside with potential to be high-level 2017 LHP.
2/16/14 - 5-foot-9, 160-pound, young prospect, showcased good feet and athleticism around the first base bag, loose arm across the infield, top velocity of 73 mph.  At the plate, the left-handed hitter hits from a slightly open setup, squares front side with a short stride, has an arm bar in load which lengthens swing but gets through the zone with quick hands, line drive type hitter showed good barrel awareness consistently squaring the baseball, ran 7.52 60, showed good bat speed for age with 84 mph tee exit velocity, 2017 prospect to follow.
