6/18/13 - 6-foot-1, 165-pound athletic prospect, as he did in February, showed very good arm strength and foot speed, registering 88 mph throws from the outfield and running a 6.72 60 yard dash.  Plays through the ball well and shows good movement.  In addition to the strong arm, his throws are accurate with carry.  At the plate, he has made some adjustments to his setup and stride by widening his stance and shortening the length of his stride which should bode well for his ability to adjust to college level off-speed pitches.  On the mound, uses short to medium arm action, fastball sat 80-82 mph with some arm side run, throws 68-69 mph curveball with 11/5 action, slider showed definite improvement with good bite and sat 72-74 mph, also uses a 75 mph changeup that showed some cutting action on this occasion.
2/18/13 - Ross is a 6-foot-1, 165 pound RHP with lanky build and room to fill on his frame, uses medium arm action, high ¾ arm slot, fastball shows good arm side run and sink at 79-81 mph, shows some feel for curveball that has 11/5 action at 68-69 mph, slider tends to be flat, curveball is the better of the two breaking balls, changeup shows good fade with near fastball arm speed at 71-72 mph.  As position player, shows good athleticism, good arm strength across the infield at 81 mph, has a tendency to field ball deep and on heels, showed athletic actions in outfield playing though the ball, very good arm strength from outfield at 87 mph.  At the plate, starts his swing in a tall position with feet close together, uses a long stride, getting out past shoulder width, even with all of the movement keeps hands above the ball with a slight uppercut as he finishes swing, gets good lower half torque in swing, could have some timing issues as he faces tougher pitchers with good off speed pitches with the narrow setup and long stride, good athlete ran an event best 6.80 60 yard dash, 83 mph tee exit velocity.
