The Alabama recruit was selected for East Coast Pro in summer 2019 and the PBR Super 60 in February 2020. Physical 6-foot-3, 205 pound frame. Big arm behind the plate, 86 mph from the crouch at Super 60. Power to all fields. Trackman data showed he registered the third highest average exit velocity st Super 60 in BP at 96.63 mph. Also has 4th highest peak estimated carry at 400 feet (wood bat).

7/3/18 - Home-1st: 4.64, Pop Time: 1.84-1.92, Position Velocity:  C-83, Exit Velocity: 94

6-foot-3, 205 pound catcher with physical frame. Put on a show in BP showing easy pull side power. Has a big arm behind the plate as evidenced by his 83 mph velocity on throws to second base. He has proven himself to be one of the top players in the 2020 class with the combination of his offensive and defensive abilities.

6.19.18 - One of the standouts from the PBR Fall Championships, Knipp looks even more physical now, and has adjusted his swing a bit to get the most out of that new physicality. The right-handed hitter grounded a single while I was watching, and then followed that up in a quick at-bat after with a booming home run to deep left-centerfield. His hands look to be lower than they were in the fall, and the new strength has led to even greater bat speed as he now works uphill through the zone. I’m looking forward to seeing him behind the plate the rest of the weekend where he was outstanding in the fall.

10/22/17 - Home-1st: 4.70, Pop Time: 1.94-2.00, Position Velocity:  C-79, Exit Velocity: 91
Athletic 6-foot-2, 185 pound frame. Arm strength immediately stands out behind the plate. Good receiver and uses athleticism well. Shows hand quickness at the plate. Routinely drives balls to the gaps with occasional pull side power. Projects to hit for power at the next level. High-level combination of offensive and defensive abilities.

7/12/17 - Home-1st: 4.69, Pop Time: 1.95-2.02, Position Velocity:  C-76, Exit Velocity: 84
6-foot-1, 165-pound RHH, lean athletic frame, impressed in all facets of the game, good rhythm in swing, quick hands generate power to the gaps, loose/repeatable swing. Stood out defensively behind the plate, receives and blocks well, good arm strength with efficient transfer and release, solid footwork. Knipp established himself as a high level prospect.
Max FB: 84, FB: 81-83, CB: 68-69
Knipp displays a quick arm on the mound through a high-3/4 slot. Fastball shows occasional arm-side life and appears to get on hitters quickly, opens early occasionally on curveball but his best ones show sharp 11/5 action with depth. Interesting two-way player.
