10/2/16 - 60 Time: 7.32, Exit Velocity: 86
6-foot-1, 190-pound, RHH hits from a balanced stance and uses an arm bar and a short stride to get loaded for his swing, above average bat speed had a long path through the zone but showed a line drive approach with some potential gap-to-gap pop.  Matthew did not participate in the defensive evaluation.
7/6/16 - Home-1st: 4.63, Position Velocity:  OF-75, Exit Velocity: 82
6-foot-1, 190-pound, RHH hits from a spread stance, short stride, slight uphill path that creates some lift at contact, engages lower half well to drive the barrel through the zone, hit some rising line drives to the gaps in a good round of BP. Displays average athleticism in the outfield with a long high-3/4 to over the top release, average arm strength with very accurate throws. Thiel has made some solid overall strides in his game.

8/2/15- 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed hitter hits from a balanced stance, loads back with a leg kick, short stride, line drive type hitter with gap to gap approach, path works uphill at times, showed big increase with 82 mph exit velocity off the tee, ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Defensively, has a long/slow exchange, long over the top release with below average arm strength, 71 mph velocity with some accuracy.
7/23/14 - 6-foot-1, 185-pound prospect ran a 7.45 60-yard dash and registered 72 mph tee exit velocity.  Hits from a balanced setup with a slight leg kick and short stride, short and direct swing path to the ball, hands are loose with some quickness, generates better bat speed than exit velocity indicates, shows a pull approach, went 1-for-2 in game play with an infield single and SAC fly.  Defensively, plays through the baseball, some accurate throws to third base, developing arm strength at 74 mph.
