6/17/14 - 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect with athletic frame and quick arm, after a bout with some injuries late last summer and fall, Murphy showed his velocity is almost all the way back to where it was last summer.  His fastball sat 86-87 mph that showed occasional cutting action and he consistently located the fastball at the bottom of the strike zone, curveball ranged from 65-69 mph, he allowed 1 hit and struck out 1 of the 5 batters he faced in game action.  Murphy committed to Eastern Kentucky University following the event.
As a position player, hits from a balanced setup, arm bar in load creates some length to swing but is able to get the barrel through the zone with quick hands, has projectable power, flashed bat speed tying for event best 91 mph tee exit velocity, runs well with 4.31 down the first base line.  As an outfielder, shows athletic actions and moves well to the ball, plays through the ball well on the ground, showed very good arm strength at 89 mph, accurate throws with online carry to the third base bag, athletic two-way prospect committed to Eastern Kentucky following the event.

6/11/13 - 6-foot, 165-pound prospect is one of the top pitching prospects in the 2015 class and also shows good two-way potential.  On the mound, he throws from a high ¾ slot with long and loose arm action and registered the top velocity of the event with a fastball that sat consistently 85-88 and touched 89 on a few occasions with some arm side run, flashed a 67-69 mph curveball with tight spin and 11/5 action, and 72 mph changeup with arm side run and sink.  As a position player, shows 86 mph arm strength across the infield, room for improvement in footwork and hands, runs very well with 6.70 60 yard dash.  At the plate, starts with balanced setup, short stride, wraps in load, good rhythm, swing gets long at times, good use of lower half creates bat speed, registered 84 mph tee exit velocity.

12-30-12 - Murphy had an impressive bullpen session.   The 6-foot, 160-pound sophomore showed repeatable, on-line mechanics and long arm action through a high ¾ arm slot that produced an 85-88 mph fastball with some arm side run.  His curveball sat at 65-66 mph and showed sharp 12/6 action when down in the zone.  He threw a 70-71 mph change up with near fastball arm speed that showed good arm side run and sink.  Murphy is definitely a player to watch in the Class of 2015.  In the infield, his throws registered at 86 mph with long arm action.  He has good lateral movement and needs to continue to work on footwork and hands to maximize his potential at the SS position.  At the plate, Murphy shows a balanced setup with a short stride.  He gets good lower half involvement in his swing that helps generate bat speed through the zone but needs to be careful of barring in his load which creates a long swing path.  Murphy registered an 81 mph exit velocity off the tee and had the fastest home to first time of the event at 4.20.
