2/13/16 A 6-foot-8, 226-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame and wide shoulders. Long arm action with more arm strength than arm speed into high-3/4 release and regular effort. Smooth rhythm, level shoulders, in-line direction and lands square. Fastball sat 84-86 mph with late run, life and quality angle. Showed a power breaking ball with 11/5 shape, fastball arm speed, tight spin, late break, quality tilt and solid depth at 75-76 mph.
6/2/15 In a 10 to 5 win, after a 9-run 7th inning, Brother Martin based Peake BMW right-handed pitcher Keagan Gillies showed a rather large jump in velocity since the end of his 2015 spring season. The 6-foot-8, 226-pound rising senior, and Tulane commit, sat 86-88 mph touching 89 mph with a clean, fast, and projectable arm action. Throws slightly across his body, which creates deception and late, hard cutting action on the fastball. The frame and arm angle allow for an outstanding angle of descent on the fastball, as well as creating exceptional tilt on the breaking ball. The breaking ball shows 11/5, and 12/6 shape on occasion, at 73-75 mph with tight spin, extremely late, hard break, and deception.
A 6-foot-8, 226-pound right hander from New Orleans, LA. Extremely long, lean, and projectable frame with a clean, quick arm. Fastball sits 84-86 mph touching 87 with severe tilt, angle, and late hard cutting action. Breaking ball spins extremely well with 12/6 shape, quality depth, deception and hard, late break. Still a fairly raw product, as he is still trying to grow into his body, but he has enormous upside with present quality stuff.
11/10/19: 6-foot-4, 210-pound frame. Average athlete with a solid, on-line delivery with tempo and medium effort. Medium arm circle into a high-¾ slot, fairly clean with quality arm speed. Worked 90-93 mph showing arm-side run on 2-seamer, with strong finish in the zone, got swing-and-misses and off-side foul balls. Flashed above average command with occasional misses down and to glove side. Showed a slider at 78-80 mph with quality depth. True 3-pitch arsenal with an above average changeup with late dive at 80-81 mph. (Sofio)
