Andrew MacDonald: LHP/OF, (2022) out of Amesbury, MA. is a 5-foot-11, 185-pound two-way prospect. In the box, Macdonald's best exit velocity was 87 MPH. He starts in a tall, balanced stance with the hands just off the back shoulder. A controlled load and a small leg kick trigger a swing that takes a quick, uphill path through contact. He stays on plane well and finishes through contact. MacDonald made a lot of solid contact and showed the ability to use the middle of the field. From the outfield, MacDonald was up to 83 MPH on his throws. As he worked through the defensive portion, he showed he has soft hands, a fluid exchange, and athletic feet. He also displayed his athleticism at the event, recording a 60 time of 6.97. On the mound, MacDonald uses a long, high ¾ arm slot to produce a fastball that sits 77-78 MPH with late arm side run. He works out of an easy, simple delivery. He gets to a good position at the top of the delivery. The hands separate nicely and he gets down the mound in line with home plate. He lands square with good extension. Along with the running fastball, MacDonald showed a 12/6 curveball (65-67 MPH) and a sweeping slider (67-68 MPH).
