Braden Young: RHP/OF, (2023) Xaverian Brothers, MA. 6-foot-1, 155-pound lanky athletic frame. Projectable and athletic in the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 88 mph. (62.1 mph bat speed average). (19.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a wrapping load, then used a toe tap stride. Bat speed is developing, exhibits a loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. Through his round he found multiple barrels with loud contact. Aggressive gap to gap approach. Projectable above average in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 80 mph; had developing soft hands, athletic consistent footwork, and a clean natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot with a loose quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.46 at the event. Projectable athletic on the mound, showed developing arm speed with a long quick arm action and a ¾ arm angle. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Balance point is tall with in line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with a falling off finish. Threw his fastball 79-80 mph; has running action and command arm side around the zone. (Max spin 2005; Avg 1834). His changeup (73-73) has arm side control and sinking action. His slider (67-69) has glove side action, around the zone command and slurvey action. (Max spin 2055; Avg 1984).
