7/18/18

6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. The fastball touched 84 mph, sink and boar to the pitch as it comes to the hitter. The spin pitch is slurvy at times, sitting 70-71 mph. The pitch can be an out pitch at the next level, needs to be shortened in spin and made into a slider. The changeup is a good pitch, sitting at 74-76 mph. The pitch has fade and sink. The delivery is clean and the arm works very well. The feet are online, slot is above ¾. The lift is athletic and repeated, stays with his arm. The tracking of the front shoulder needs to stay online longer to improve his extension. This will also help him control his slot, currently at times, it gets too high in my opinion. Division 1 arm for me.

6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher and pitcher. Tough to be a two-way guy as a pitcher and a catcher but this young man may be able to do it. On the mound, the delivery is clean and compact. The feet line up to the catcher and the slot is slightly above 3/4 . The arm works fast and the ball comes out nicely. The tracking needs to be aligned a bit better, and he has a small amount of forward lean. The fastball touched 88 mph, and he showed a 2-seam with plus action. The breaking is 68 mph, needs a tweak and more fastball hand speed to it. The changeup moves the correct way, sat at 76 mph. Defensively, threw 78 mph with a clean transfer. The feet can be shortened up to improve his pop time. The pop time is 1.99. The receiving is solid and he moves well behind the plate. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 89 mph. Sets up with his feet even, picks up the front foot and puts it down as the ball approaches. The swing is clean and the hands work well.

6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher/infielder who was impressive. Threw 79 mph from behind the dish, showing plenty of arm strength. The receiving behind the plate needs to continue to improve as he matures. Softening up the catch and securing the catch more appropriately will come with time. Pop time of 1.97 in the defensive workout. Threw 82 mph across the diamond in the infield portion of the workout. The glove is average and he needs to clean up the prep steps. Ran a 4.78 on his dig to first base. At the plate, tee exit velocity of 87 mph.  The frame is strong and the path has strength to it. Hits out of an even base, picks up and puts down the front foot as the ball approaches. The path is long to contact, shortening the swing down would make this guy a serious prospect as the tools to catch are already in place.
