Chase Donahue: SS/RHP, (2023) The Bromfield, MA. 6-foot-1, 168-pound lean athletic build. Athletic and projectable in the box, Donahue had an exit velocity of 92 mph. (71.3 mph bat speed average). (22.6 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a small load, then used a small stride. Has a loose swing plane, quick developing bat speed and good extension on his finish. He found lots of barrels with loud contact. Pull side approach. Projectable and capable while in the infield, made throws up to 81 mph; had a clean natural exchange, consistent developing footwork, and soft developing hands. Movements laterally were developing and he fields the ball out front. Consistent accuracy to the bag, used a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.37. Capable on the mound, showed developing quick arm speed with a high ¾ arm angle and a short quick arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed consistent balance point and in line shoulders. Lands closed with a balanced finish. Sat with his fastball at 81-83 mph; has running action and control arm side around the zone. Threw a 11/5 curveball (69-72) with sweeping action and glove side around the zone control. His changeup (72-74) shows arm side around the zone control and gradual fading action.
