3/17/19

6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. Continues to develop as a pitcher as the movements are athletic. The delivery is online and the slot has come down from being way above ¾, The arm works more free and the ball comes out better. The glove pull is minimized and he stays with his arm for the most part. The frame projects to add pounds as he matures. The fastball is up to 88 mph, arm side run and sink to the pitch. The breaking ball shape is correct, as he has a good feel for it. The pitch sat 71-72 mph. The changeup had fade and sink, as the pitch sat 71-75 mph. The ability to control the ball and engage in the strike zone are present. The pitchability for him is high.

6/27/18

6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder. On the mound, the fastball touched 84 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is an 11/7 breaking ball, sat at 70 mph. The pitch still needs to be cut more out front to gain velocity, as he has a feel for it. The changeup has improved since we last saw it, sat at 75-76 with fade, tick too hard at times. The delivery is online with his feet, slight forward lean as he gets started. The arm slot is above ¾ and works clean. The tracking is done well and he posts the glove side appropriately. Chance to be a good one on the mound. Ran a 7.48 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 81 mph with minimal effort in the outfield. The movements are athletic and he can play a corner outfield spot. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph, physical strength gains are needed. The set up is wide in base, and the bottom half is under control. The swing is clean to the ball, needs to be flattened as he top spin balls at times. Athleticsm and actions are advanced.

3/11/18

6-foot-1, 175-pound right-handed hitting pitcher and outfielder. Threw 88 mph from the outfield, the approach is aggressive and athletic. The arm is fast and he lets it rip. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph. Starts with his feet wide in base. The hands are quick to the ball, path can be flattened through the ball. The bottom half is under control throughout the swing. Uses a 1-handed finish after contact. On the mound, the fastball touched 82 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 67 mph, correct in shape. The changeup is advanced, sat at 77 mph. The delivery is online with his feet, does a good job tracking the front shoulder to the plate. The glove side is posted well and he repeats the lift and small coil. The delivery does have forward lean and a small amount of recoil after he lets go of the ball. The stuff is legit, and the ceiling on the mound is high. Division 1 prospect on the mound.

8/15/17

6-foot-1, 160-pound right-handed pitcher, excellent showing at the event. Good looking right-handed arm, very athletic. On the bump, the fastball touched 83 mph, arm side run to the fastball at times. The spin pitch has a great shape to it, sat at 65-66 mph. The changeup is 75-77 mph, showed the correct pronation at times. The slot is above ¾ and the arm works freely. The tracking is done well and the feet are online as he makes his way into foot strike. The breaking ball has a chance to be a plus pitch. Uses an athletic lift and go to the plate. Glove action during the delivery comes across the hitters face and gets outside his frame. Small head lean as the arm comes through. Excellent all around prospect.

8/02/17

6-foot,160-pound outfielder and right-handed pitcher. Worked out in the outfield and showed a tremendous amount of athleticsm. Threw 84 mph from the outfield with carry and good accuracy. The approach to the ball is appropriate and he is a reliable outfielder as well. Ran a a 4.71 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 80 mph. Physical strength is needed to his frame. The frame is projectable and should fill out nicely. Starts with his feet wide, and a relaxed hand set. Uses a small pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The swing is clean and the plane to the ball is appropriate.

3/12/17

6-foot, 155-pound, long, lengthy, athletic frame. The shoulders are squared off, has plenty of room for future development. A two-way player, pitched the baseball extremely well at this workout. A right-handed pitcher, has slow tempo delivery, the hands start and stay high, gets to a powerful gather is compact in this position. The stride is slightly across his body, did a tremendous job locating the fastball, especially to the glove side. The arm action is super clean, short and works out of a high ¾ slot. The fastball got to 79 mph, with a ton more in there. The breaking ball was thrown for strikes, clocked at 63 mph, has the hand speed to turn it into a slider at some point, the spin is correct needs to be thrown harder. The changeup is a work in progress, trouble locating it, clocked at 75 mph. The finish could be better, wants to recoil, stay through release point. Offensively, hits from the right side, has a taller stance, it's open to even. The hands are held just above the back shoulder, bat starts in a good position, for timing has a higher leg kick. The swing path is level to up, has a high finish. The approach was more to the pull side. The hands have lots of movement to them, needs to control them. Defensively, showed a clean, fast arm from the outfield, clocked at 80 mph, routes and angles are good, used his entire body to make the throws. Projects for me as a right-handed pitcher, the velocity is going to jump, he is going to come quick at some point, see him this spring.

2018 FUTURE GAMES
6-foot-1, 180-pound right-handed pitcher and outfielder. Ran a 7.36 on the laser at the event. The outfield play is solid, he would be a corner outfielder at the next level. Threw 86 mph from the outfield during the workout. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph, as the frame needs strength. The setup is wide in base, the hands are relaxed and high to start. The bottom half uses a knee to knee timing mechanism on the bottom half. The path is simple, needs to be flattened and he uses a 1-handed finish after contact. On the mound, the fastball touched 86 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The breaking ball is correct in shape, sitting 70-72 mph. The changeup is progressing nicely, sitting at 77-78 mph with fade .The delivery is athletic, and repeated. The tempo is methodical, leg lift with a small coil at the top. The slot is above ¾ and works freely. The tracking of the front shoulder is improving and the softening  of the front side needs to continue to progress. I think he is a legit prospect on the mound.
