Cournoyer is a 5-foot-11, 175 pound right handed hitting catching prospect. He hits out of a wide, slightly open squatty stance with the hands in a relaxed position. The load begins with a leg kick and stacks the weight over the backside nicely. The bat enters the zone on an uphill path and continues well through contact. Cournoyer showed the ability to drive the ball gap to gap and produced a max exit velocity of 90 MPH.

Behind the plate, Cournoyer had a velocity of 74 MPH on his throws. The initial stance is square with the glove set on the lower side of the chest.  As he transitions to throw, the transfer is good, doing a nice job of getting the ball back and into a good position to throw.  The feet move well, allowing the hips and shoulders to create a good line with his target. He gets a little long with the arm-swing but finishes nicely over his front leg.

The 5-foot-10, 160 pound right handed hitting catcher/outfielder had a te exit velocity of 82 mph.  The set-up is athletic, slightly open with the hands in a relaxed position.  The load is quick twitch, with to tap getting it started.  The swing has some lift and takes a direct path to and through contact.

Behind the plate, he had a velocity of 67 mph.  The stance is square with the glove set on the lower side of the chest.  As he transitions to throw, the transfer is good.  He does a nice job of getting the ball back and into a good position to throw.  The feet slide a little toward the third base side, causing the arm to make adjustments.

In the outfield, he had a velocity of 69 mph.  He moves well getting into a position to field.  The glove was relaxed out in front.  As he fields, the transition to throw stays in line and he gets into a good throwing position.  The arm swing is clean and he continues through the target.

The 5-foot-10, 160 pound right-handed hitting catcher/infielder had a tee exit velocity of 79 mph.  The stance begins out of a wide stance with the weight offset on the backside. The load is short and he gets into a good position to hit.  From there, the weight hangs back on the backside and the bat takes a slightly elevated path to and through the ball.  He did show the ability to make consistent solid contact during the BP.In the outfield, the arm registered at 64 mph.  The feet were light.Keeping the approach under control as he worked into the fielding position.  The glove was relaxed and in the correct position.  As he transitioned from fielding to the throwing position, the body did a good job of staying in line with the target.Behind the plate, he was 63 mph down to second base.  The initial set up is square with the glove set in the center of the chest.  The transition from glove to hand happens off the back shoulder and he’s able to get into a good arm swing.  The feet slide toward third base a little as he works into the throwing position and the hips follow. As he works to get the hips and feet square, the accuracy and arm strength will increase.
