PROCASE

5-foot-11, 205-pound left-hander headed to Virginia Tech shows a tremendous amount of improvement since we last saw him. The fastball is 84-85 mph during the winter months, we have seen it better. The fastball has arm side run and action to it. The breaking ball is special, its a short slurve and its hard, sits at 77-78 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, the spin needs to tighten and the grip needs a tweak as its too hard, sits at 81-82 mph. The delivery is online and compact to the catcher. The slot is slightly above ¾ and its quick. The lift is athletic, small coil at the top and he does a good job of tracking the front side to foot strike. The approach is aggressive and I love the stuff.

8/4/16

5-foot-10, 170-pound left-handed quick arm pitcher.  Showed very well for himself at the event. The delivery is clean and the arm works nicely. The arm is fast and he gets out front with the ball hand. Pitches out of an athletic lift and gather. The glove side has a little pull off direction as he needs to control the glove side to the catcher more often. The ball gets away from him at times due to being stretched out up top. The fastball has good life, sitting 84-86 mph with arm-side run. The spin pitch is very advanced for his age, 75-77 mph and legit when he gets it out front. The changeup is a tick hard as he needs to add more skin to the ball and clean up the grip. Legit 2019 prospect on the mound.

3/9/16
Slight left-hander who was very impressive in his session in Hudson. To be honest, his breaking ball is good enough to pitch in college right now. The delivery is sound, some coil to it, and the direction to the plate is done very well. The arm is clean, and quick out front. Fastball touched 84 mph and had true left-handed run to it. The breaking ball was 11/7 and touched 73 mph. It is a plus pitch right now. The changeup was 75 mph, a little too firm, and needs a ball rotation tweak. Big time prospect for me.
