Jacob Hurrell: C/OF, (2021) Haverhill, MA. 5-foot-10, 145-pound lean frame. Athletic at the plate, Hurrell recorded an exit velocity of 94 mph. Started in an open stance with a low load, then used a long stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. In the round he found lots of barrels with a lot of loud contact. Pull side approach. While catching, he recorded a position velocity of 78 mph during throw downs; showed athletic feet, a fluid exchange, and consistent hands. Consistently had pop times of 2.0-2.13. Quiet setup with some flexibility. Had a loose arm action and a ¾ slot with consistent accuracy to the base.

Hit: (LHH) Began in an open stance with a low load, then used a long stride. Quick bat speed. Good extension on his finish, flat swing. Pull side approach.
Power: 94 mph exit velocity, average 85.79 mph. 73.28 mph bat speed average. 24.68 mph hand speed average.
Defense: (C) 2.0-2.13 pop times. Consistent hands, athletic footwork, fluid exchange. Athletic. Quiet setup with some flexibility.
Arm: 78 mph catcher velocity. Loose arm action, ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.
5-foot-10, 145-pound left-handed hitting catcher. He ran a 7.1 as he moves well for a guy behind the dish. He also plays some outfield. The skill set behind the dish is improving, he threw 72 mph down to second base with a pop time of 1.97. The transfer and arm strength can continue to improve. The receiving is improving, still working on securing the catch and softening the glove. The bat has an exit velocity of 88 mph as that is improving. The setup is even in base and the front foot steps into the swing. He does have a little forward lean, causing him to hit off his front foot. The path is long, he can shorten it with better direction to start the swing. The biggest jump he will see is if he starts to get physically stronger. The skill set is solid to this point.

5-foot-10, 145-pound left-handed hitting catcher and outfielder. Behind the dish he showed very well. He threw 75 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.07. The feet work well and the transfer is clean. I like his skill set. The receiving is solid. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph. The setup is wide in base and the path is flat to the ball. The hands work freely to the ball and he showed good hand speed. Good looking prospect.
