8/19/18

5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher and infielder. Ran a 4.56 down the line on his dig to first base. Threw 72 mph from behind the plate, pop time of 2.19. The feet need to continue to develop behind the plate as the arm works clean. The receiving is solid, the glove is soft and he moves athletically. Threw 74 mph across the diamond from third to first base. The glove is soft, improving the foot work is imperative. The way you move your feet is the key to playing third base, tough position. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. The setup is wide in base, bottom half under control throughout. The hands work free, would like to see him flatten the swing for plate coverage. Hammered the ball in live play, looked shorter to the ball in the game.

5-foot-10, 165-pound right-handed hitting catcher who continues to improve each time we see him. Showed good receiving skills behind the dish. The glove is soft and he is athletic enough to move well back there. Threw 72 mph down to second base during the workout. The pop time is 2.0 as the feet can continue to improve during the transfer. The glove is solid in the infield, as he needs to improve the prep steps through the ball. Threw 77 mph across the diamond at the event. Tee exit velocity of 81 mph. Starts with his feet even, uses a knee to knee timing mechanism on the bottom half. The swing is under control, length in the past, and the hands work cleanly.

8/02/17

5-foot-9, 160-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Continues to improve each time we see him. Threw 69 mph down to second base in the workout. A long toss program in the winter should help him improve going into next spring. The pop time was 2.15 at the event. The receiving is trending the right way and he shows the ability to block and recover. Ran a 4.62 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 83 mph. Hits out of a wide set up, the hands are clean and work nicely through the ball. The bottom half is under control and he maintains a solid path to the ball during the game. Solid prospect.

6/28/17

5-foot-10, 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher. Swung the bat extremely well in the game, getting a few base knocks throughout the day. Ran a 4.65 on his dig to first base. Tee exit velocity of 81 mph. Sets up with an even base, relaxed hands. The bat path is clean and simple to the ball, slightly uphill at times. Finishes the swing with a 1-handed approach. Stays in his legs throughout the swing. Defensively. Showed solid receiving skills, still needs to work on securing the catch. Threw 70 mph down to second base with a pop time of 2.09. In the infield, threw 73 mph across the diamond. The footwork to and through the ball needs to improve as he physically matures. Solid showing and prospect.

3/18/17

5-foot-9, 145-pound right-handed hitting catcher and infielder. Behind the plate, threw 69 mph out of a clean and short arm path. The arm path projects nicely to stay behind the plate. The receiving needs to continue to soften as he secures the catch. Like the defensive skills as the feet work well. At the plate, the tee exit velocity of 77 mph. Sets up with a wide base and relaxed hands. The swing is long to the ball and he cuts himself with his front foot as he steps in. The bat has potential with a feet fix. Like the potential of this player with a few small adjustments to his game.
