6/28/16

Right-handed pitcher who has a big upside as I love the athleticism and the slot. He shows the ability to repeat his delivery. Low-¾ slot, long, clean arm swing with good extension out front. The fastball has run and sink to it, touching 79 mph with a ton more to come. The frisbee slider is 69 mph and he has a feel for the shape. The changeup is a work in progress. I love the 6-foot-4 frame and look forward to seeing him mature. Defensively at first, his feet and glove work. Threw 80 mph across the diamond with ease, ran a 4.7 on a dig to first. The bat needs some cleaning, hits out of a wide-based crouch setup. The bottom half has a ton of action to it, and the hand path, along with the bottom half action, make his swing too long. High level pitcher for me, and as he matures, watch for a big jump in velocity as the frame and arm speed are there.

3/9/16

Raw and talented right-hander, who I have seen throw twice now. The arm has plenty of life to it, just needs some delivery tweaking and innings. The fastball touched 80 mph, and has plus life to it. The breaking ball is a short slurve and he slows his hand down during the pitch, in time, the pitch should improve in velocity from its current 67 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, touching 70 mph, but at times, has the right fade and action. The delivery is clean, like most kids his age, he needs to track his front shoulder all the way to foot strike. Right now he runs away from his arm. The high backside leg kick follow through is a staple of power pitchers, and this guy has it. In time, this guy is going to throw nitro. Big follow for me.
