New England Procase

5-foot-9, 175-pound, strong thick, undersized athletic frame, with hands and wrists having serious strength to them. A right-handed hitting third baseman, took one of the better rounds of batting practice. The stance is balanced, feet are even, small controlled leg kick, staying over the back side, hands are back. The swing is very short to the baseball, barrel is in the zone, with a middle to pull side approach. The swing creates backspin to the baseball. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 90 mph and ran 7.34 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, shows a big arm from third, clocked at 87 mph, carry and flight to all throws. The glove plays, moves well to both sides, and showed athletic movements on the pro move.

FUTURE GAMES
5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitting infielder. Had a solid week at the event. Ran a 7.3 sixty at the event. The glove is solid in the field, moves well laterally, needs to work on coming on the ground ball. The arm has plenty of strength to it, throwing 86 mph across the diamond. The bat has a tee exit of 89 mph. The base is wide to start, bottom half is under control throughout. The bat path has a tick of uphill to it as he attempts to lift the ball. The hands work well and he has a good feel for the game.

5-foot-9, 175-pound right-handed hitting infielder and outfielder. He also pitched at the event. Ran a 7.43 sixty at the event. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 89 mph. The setup is wide in base, uses a knee to knee bottom half approach. The hands work free and clear to the ball. Showed the ability to stay in his legs. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and athletic, threw 84 mph from right-field to the plate. The approach in the infield is the same, feet work and glove is soft. Threw 88 mph across the diamond with carry. On the mound, the fastball was 81-82 mph, minimal arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is 71-72 and correct in shape. The changeup is 72 mph, minimal fade to it. The delivery is online, the slot is above 3/4. The lift and coil are repeated, easy flow to delivery. The arm is clean and quick, threw strikes.

5-foot-9 ,175-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder and pitcher. Good looking young player. The glove and approach to the ball is done appropriately. The actions are athletic and quick. Threw 86 mph across the diamond with accuracy. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 88 mph. The setup is semi-wide, big leg lift as the ball approaches. The path is clean, slightly uphill and quick at times. Would like to see him flatten it out and get more in his skill set. On the mound, the fastball touched 81 mph, arm side run to the pitch. The spin pitch is correct in shape, 70-71 mph in action. The changeup is developing well, sitting 73-75. The delivery has crossfire to it, above ¾ in slot. The lift is repeated, small forward lean and the glove is tucked as he gets into foot strike. I like the bat and him as a positional player, good follow and Division 1 prospect.

5-foot-8, 165-pound right-handed hitting utility player. Ran a 4.46 down the line on his dig to first base. The approach in the outfield is appropriate and aggressive. Threw 85 mph from right field to the plate. The glove and footwork in the infield is done well, threw 83 mph across the diamond. Profiles as an offensive second baseman, but is solid enough to kick around to all 3 spots. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 85 mph. The setup is even in base, uses a knee to knee approach. The hands work free and simple to the ball, spreads the ball all over the field in the batting practice session. Solid skill set, very good player.

5-foot-8, 160-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder. Showed a very good skill set at the event. Ran a 7.4 sixty at the event. The feet and the glove are solid defensively as he shows a feel for defense. The ability to handle the pivot are present. He could kick to the outfield is need be as well. Threw 80 mph in the infield and 82 mph from the outfield. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 84 mph. The setup is even in base, pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The path is clean to the ball, slightly uphill. Did make a concerted effort to spread the field during the batting practice session. Very good player at a young age.

7/26/17

5-foot-7, 154-pound, small, thick, strong athletic frame. The hands and wrists have above average strength for his age. The top tool is his bat, squares up the baseball routinely, runs the bases extremely well, has a high IQ. At the plate, hands are loose and are even at shoulder height, bat starts in a flat position. The feet are slightly wider than shoulder width, has an open stance. The swing is down to level, keeps the hands inside the baseball, approach is opposite, spraying one line drive after another, it's real short to the baseball. The tee exit velocity is 79 mph and ran a 4.85 down the line. Defensively, works low to the ground, hands are soft, comes through the baseball quickly. The actions are smooth, feet and hands work well together. The arm action has average length to it on the backside, clocked at 73 mph, has good strength. The feeds and starts were good on double plays, projects more as a second baseman. Off the mound, has simple balanced delivery, stays over the rubber, front side stays inline, gets across his body at times. The arm action is slightly longer off the mound, fastball was clocked at 71-74 mph, located the 4 seamer to glove side. The breaking ball was 59-63 mph, thrown for strikes, showed to have feel for changeup at 66-69 mph. Projects for me as a position player, look for big things from this one, only going to be a freshman.
