Sam Keene: LHP/OF, (2024) Boston College, MA. 6-foot-3, 185-pound athletic projectable frame. Projectable and athletic at the plate, the left-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 87 mph. (65.2 mph bat speed average). (22.0 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a wrapping load, then used a small stride. Bat speed is developing, has an uphill loose swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls with loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Projectable athletic his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 79 mph; shows developing athletic feet, a clean natural exchange, and soft developing hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Used a high ¾ slot and a loose arm action while showing consistent accuracy to the base. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.81. Projectable and capable on the mound, used a high ¾ arm angle and a consistent arm action while showing developing arm speed. Feel type pitcher who shows some effort. He has in line shoulders and a consistent balance point. Lands closed with an athletic finish. Threw his fastball 78-80 mph; showed control arm side in the zone and running action. (Max spin 1909; Avg 1808). Shows glove side around the zone control and sweeping action on his curveball (65-66). (Max spin 1644; Avg 1644).

Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Balance point is tall with in line shoulders during delivery. Lands closed with recoil finish. His curveball (67-68) shows sweeping action and glove side around the zone command. (Max spin 1825; Avg 1687). His changeup (74-75) had gradual fading action and arm side around the zone control. The feel around the bag at first is solid, the feet can remain more active during the fielding process. He threw 75 mph across the 3rd base. The approach in the outfield is aggressive and online, throwing 76 mph. The bat has an exit velocity of 80 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot steps into the swing. The path is casted out and around to contact. He cuts off the swing after contact. On the mound, the fastball sat 71-73 mph with arm side action. The spin pitch is 57-59 mph, big in shape. The changeup is a work in progress. The delivery is online with the feet and high in slot. The lift is repeated, arches the back and spins off as he drives into foot strike.
