8/2017 - Has continued to develop and placed himself into the No.1 Spot of the new 2018 Rankings with a strong summer showing.
9.29.16 - North Carolina commit. Hits from an athletic slightly open set up. Has nice rhythm throughout. Stays open at load at times, not all the time. Shows strong hands and potential for some power at the plate. Shows nice bat speed throughout swing. Gets some lower half involvement... Athletic delivery on the mound with good tempo. A bit of a drop and drive style delivery and does pitch with some effort. Loose quick arm action with fast arm speed. Projectable body so there is still more growing and filling out to do. Fastball sat 85-87 topping out at 88mph. Breaking ball was 75-77 with put away potential and still a good pitch. Change was 80-82 with dive.
8.23.16 - North Carolina committ Austin Elliott has continued to develop since being a breakout performer at the Maryland Preseason ID. As he showed at the event, he is forming himself into a potential two-way player in college. Elliott garnered the most interest early on the mound showing off his arm strength and potential during Cape Henlopen's state championship game run in 2015. This past spring Elliott showed his ability as a two way player being voted as an All-State outfielder.
2.21.15 - Austin Elliot is a 6-foot 170-pound RHP/OF. An already athletic body, Elliot pitched at 84 mph from a high 3/4 arm slot with quick arm speed. He displayed smooth rhythm and had good downward action on his fastball. His changeup had near fastball arm action with some sink and he had good command of the pitch. He did not show a breaking ball as it was still early in his bullpen schedule. As he gets more consistent at repeating his delivery, Elliot will project to be a highly ranked prospect as a pitcher. As a position player, Elliot showed a clean and loose arm action from the outfield and carry on his throws at 78 mph. At the plate he had a balanced and athletic set up with a gap-to-gap swing. His exit velocity was 80 mph and he ran a 7.39 60 yard dash.
