MD Top Prospect Games East

Athletic body type and projectable 6’2’’, 175 pound frame. Hits from a relaxed, balanced, square stance at the plate. Small leg kick load creating good hand separation. Short, compact swing with strong lower half involvement. Quick hands and fast bat speed with a slightly uphill swing path. Stays on the ball really well through contact with good extension and excellent balance throughout the swing. Easy swing, gap-to-gap type hitter with pop. Recorded an 87 mph exit velocity. Athletic in the infield at third base and plays with active feet. Moves well, gets around the ball and works through it to first base. Showed some range and throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot at 84 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.33 60-yard time. Small, side-step, full wind-up and high leg kick into a tall balance point. Controlled downhill delivery. Lands square to the plate with an athletic finish. Clean hand separation and long arm action creating quick arm speed through release. Throws from a high three-quarter slot with easy effort. Fastball ranged 79-83 mph. Breaking ball was 69-73 with 12/6 shape and changeup sat 74-75 mph.

Long, athletic 6'2'', 175 pound frame with a ton of projection to it. Hits from a balanced, athletic, square stance at the plate. Minimal load with a short stride and hands pre-set in a good hitting position. Does create some hand separation and really does a nice job of staying behind the ball and through it on contact. Short to the ball with quick bat speed and a level swing path. Shows some present strength and pop at the plate now with a high ceiling for more to come. Went 2-for-3 with a homerun against Loyola and drove another against Mount St. Joe that was caught at the fence in left-center field. Young stick doing more than holding his own against the top arms in the MIAA. 

MD Preseason All State

Long athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 175-pounds. Ran a Home-1st time of 4.21. Hits from the right side with a square upright stance and hands have some rhythm and flow to them. Small pickup and stride forward with hands back. Quick hands with some strength at contact. Uphill swing path with a high finish. Could get more usage out of the lower half. Exit velocity was 90 mph. Controlled approach to the ball in the infield. Catches the ball out in front with a clean exchange. Short arm action and throws from a three-quarter arm slot with a positional velocity of 78 mph.  Small rocker step to start a low effort, repeatable delivery. Consistent balance point and a clean hand break moving down the mound. Shoulders are fairly level and lands slightly closed at foot strike. Short quick arm and throws from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball was downhill at 78-80 mph and topped out at 81. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid arm speed at 67-69 mph. Changeup displayed some arm side fade with average arm speed and feel. Changeup sat at 67-69 mph.

MD Fall Invitational

Athletic body type and projectable 6-foot-2, 175 pound frame. Hits from a tall, slightly open stance at the plate. Minimal load starting with hands pre-set and takes a small stride creating some separation. Short, compact, slightly uphill swing path with quick bat speed. Showed good balance and stays behind the ball well with some lower half involvement in swing. Nice extension through contact with an exit velo up to 85 mph. Took two really nice rounds of BP. Gap-to-gap line drive type hitter now with some pop in the bat. Moves well and works through the ball at third base. Funnels ball to chest with soft hands and showed clean exchanges. Throws with longer arm action from a high three-quarters slot at 80 mph. 

MD Top Prospect Games II

Long, lanky, athletic body type and projectable 6-foot-1, 175 pound frame. Hits from a tall slightly open stance at the plate with feet close together in a pre-loaded position. Quiet body and minimal extra movements in the box. Stays behind the ball well and showed nice extension through contact. Short stride and explosive lower half involvement. Quick hands and fast bat speed with an exit velo of 84 mph. Short, slightly uphill swing path. Gap-to-gap type hitter with occasional pop. Athletic and moves well at third base. Rangy, playing through the ball with soft hands and a clean exchange. Longer arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot at 81 mph across the diamond. Ran a 4.71 home-to-first time.
