Tall, athletic body type and projectable frame. Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick into a tall balance point. Clean hand separation and long arm action, creating some arm speed through release. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot with easy effort. Gets downhill and finishes over front side. Fastball sat 76-77 mph and breaking ball showed big, gradual 12/6 shape at 63-64 mph.
1.21.17 (Freshmen Free Showcase) - Long, lanky body with projection to add strength to his frame at 6-foot-3, 170-pounds. Slower, build up type delivery. Pitches with easy effort. Loose arm action throwing from a high three quarter slot. Shows some arm speed through release. Average lower half usage and could get more velo as he gets it more involved. FB up to 69 mph and sat 65-68 with slight run to the pitch. Breaking ball was 54-56 with gradual break and 1/7 shape. Change was 60-63 with fade to the pitch...........Ran a 4.64 home to first. Hits from a tall set up. Works hands back to stride into hitting position. Level bat path with average bat speed. Showed some power potential at the plate. Barrelled ball well during BP. Pull type hitter. Shows potential once he fills out lanky frame. 78 mph exit velocity. ACtive feet in the infield, clean exchange with a short arm action. 67 mph infield velo.
