5.20.17 - Lawrence stands at 6-0, 180lbs. The left handed pitcher/ outfielder ran a 7.5 second 60-yard dash on a thick track. At the plate, he features a simple, open set up. He is well-balanced and utilizes a quick stride in order to get to contact quickly. His bat path is efficient and gets on plane early while staying into his lower half. He stays long through the zone and generates some extension with a 80mph exit velocity. In the outfield, he has efficient footwork and takes quality routes to the ball. Showed feel for pro-step and was able to get throws off quickly. Balls had some tail through the cutoff man but still had some carry. Outfield velocity of 80mph. On the mound, the lefty has an up-tempo and simple delivery. He has limited effort in his motion with a repeatable and short arm action. He releases from a high ¾ slot as he gets down the mound well. Hips clear and lands square to target. Fastball topped at 77mph with sink. Changeup ranged from 68-70mph with fade and was consistently down in the zone. Breaking ball sat 63-65mph with 11/5 shape.
