Maryland Top Prospect Games II

Body: 6’2’’, 165 pounds. Prototypical, projectable frame with long levers and developing athleticism in the movements.
Hit: RHH. Slightly open, bent stance with the hands favorably starting at the shoulder, utilizing a leg lift with hip coil into a stacked up backside. Landed with stretch, initiating the hands through a quick, twitchy, flat path into the hitting zone. Matched pitch plane early with success going back through the middle with hard contact; whipped the bat head through extension, generating consistent line drives (40%) when on time. More power on the way as he keeps adding strength.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Doubles power to the pull-side (320 foot max batted ball distance).
Arm: RH. OF - 77 mph. Short, moderate arm circle with a slight hitch at the top and smooth out in front.
Defense: Average pace and worked downhill through the baseball fielding off the left foot. Projects a stay in LF with length that can be further accompanied by more strength. Solid actions early in routes with some range to the glove side.
Run: 7.26 60-yard time.

Maryland Preseason All-State Session II

Body: 6’1’’, 165 pounds. Lean, high-waisted, and athletic frame.
Hit: RHH. Even, slightly bent stance with the weight shifted slightly favoring the front side to start; utilized a toe tap stride with a lot of pre-swing movement at the plate. Entered the hitting zone through a flat path yielding a mostly line drive approach (39% line drive rate). Missed on the ground on occasion to the pull-side (SS) coming slightly across the baseball. Good feel for the hands overall with a short swing showing adjustability down in the zone. Will only get better as he keeps adding strength.
Power: 87 mph exit velocity during BP per TrackMan. Developing doubles power when he gets the long levers extended.
Arm: RH. OF - 73 mph. Short, high ¾ slot with minor restrictions.
Defense: Projects a stay in LF at the moment, hop step for the prep work staying on his toes and working slightly downhill on the baseball. Soft glove hand showed give off the left side funneling into the body, adequate pace during defensive evaluations.
Run: 7.42 60-yard time.
