Preseason All-State Session II
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 5’10”, 190 pounds. Strong, solid body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a balanced, slightly crouched, square stance at the plate with a wide base. Quick back load and minimal stride. Short to the ball with quick and and quick bat speed through the hitting zone. Stays behind the ball well with a more uphill swing path. Swings with intent and gets good extension past contact and a hard two-handed finish. Worked mostly middle to the pull side during BP.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity from the tee. Showed pop to the pull side with more projected.
Arm: RH. INF - 67 mph. Throws with longer arm action from a mid three-quarter slot.
Defense: Works through the ball well fielding it out in front at third base. Plays with quick feet and showed the ability to make a variety of difficult plays throwing from several arm slots.
Run: 4.90 home-to-first time.
MD Preseason All State
Solid frame at 5-foot-9, 190 pounds. Hits from the right side with an open, slightly upright stance. Small pickup to stride landing on-line, hands are quick to the ball, and swing is flat with an uphill two-hand finish. Lower half finishes completely and head is behind barrel at contact. Exit velocity was 79 mph. Home-to-first time was 4.88. Uses a quick jab step behind the dish to get in-line with the throw. Clean, slower exchange to a short arm action throwing from a low three-quarters arm slot with average arm speed. Positional velocity was 64 mph. Pop times ranged 2.57 - 2.70. Worked primarily out of the stretch. Got to a consistent balance point about waste high and upper body was slightly crouched, but showed proper tilt for the arm slot. Down and out movement home landing closed at foot strike. Short quick arm action and throws from a sidearm slot. Fastball was at 66-67 and topped a 72 with some arm side run. Curveball showed average feel from a tough arm slot to throw it out of. Curveball velocity was 57-60 with 10/4 shape. Changeup was a solid secondary pitch with arm side fade at 57-62 mph.
