MD Preseason All State

Athletic frame at 5-foot-10, 160-pounds. Athletic open stance from the right side striding closed. Hands load back low to an arm bar, hands are quick, and bat path is uphill. Barrel stays on through extension, lower half finishes with aggression, and exit velocity was 85 mph. Swing shows intent and some power potential, especially to the pull-side. Works outside the ball on approach in the infield. Feet are active and shows a solid glove presentation. Exchange is clean and showed the ability to make a variety of throws from different arm angles. Has some arm strength as he posted a positional velocity of 82 mph. Home-to-first time was 4.53.  Starts with a small rocker step from the windup and gets to an athletic balance point before engaging lower half driving forward. Hips and shoulder slightly elevated and drives off of backside down the mound. Lands closed and falls towards first base side post release. Short quick arm action and shows arm speed throwing from a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball sat at 77-79 and topped at 81 mph and was thrown with intent. Curveball has late 12/6 break at 68-71 mph. Changeup was 72-74 with fastball arm speed and late diving action to the pitch. Both secondary pitches were thrown with arm speed and intent behind them.

Solid, compact, athletic 5-foot-10, 160 pound body type and frame. Plays with active feet and showed good actions in the infield. Athletic movements and plays through the ball with soft hands. Short arm action throwing from a high three-quarters slot. Ball has some carry across the diamond at 83 mph. Showed some pop at the plate to both fields. Side step wind-up and high leg kick to balance. Good stride and lower half involvement. Smooth rhythm and level shoulders. Pitches in-line and lands square to the plate falling off to the first base side on finish. Fastball sat 79-82, topped 83 mph with slight arm side run. Nice sharp 12-6 shape curveball at 70-72 mph and gradual 10-4 shape slider at 69-71; both with fastball arm speed. Changeup showed some fade at 75-76 mph.

Athletic frame with room to grow at 5-foot-9, 155 pounds. Hits from an open stance with a toe tap in rhythm with swing. Has a quick, downward load with a quick bat and aggressive  hands. Short swing to the ball with a slight uppercut, exit velo was 76 mph. Smooth hands and quick feet fielding the ball, somewhat of a sidearm delivery upon release. Position velo was 75 mph. On the mound has a sidestep, build up style delivery with high leg kick. Some drop-n-drive in delivery with some lower half involvement. Falls toward the first base side at finish. Sound arm action throwing from a high three-quarter slot. Fastball is straight up to 78 mph and ranged from 76-78. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape on the pitch with gradual break and potential to be a good pitch at  62-64 mph. Change-up has dive to the pitch at  66-67 mph.
