Maryland Top Prospect Games West
Body: 6’3’’, 170 pounds. Long, lanky, athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from a tall, balanced, square stance at the plate. Smooth, rhythmic type load with solid hand separation. Small leg kick load into a medium side stride. Attacks the ball with intent with quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well with solid lower half involvement. Great extension through the zone and past contact and stays behind the ball well. Nice middle to pull side line drive approach, finishing strong with two hands. Ball explodes off the bat with consistent loud contact.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity per TrackMan during BP. Present pull side power with more developing.
Arm: RH. INF - 72 mph. Shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot.
Defense: Works through the ball very well with quick, smooth, active feet. Fields the ball out in front, funneling to the belt with smooth hands. Rangy side to side with quick, clean exchanges.
Run: 7.62 60-yard time.
Delivery: Controlled side-step wind-up and high leg kick to a tall balance position with hands set close to body. Drop and drive style delivery with a slight hesitation. Level shoulder plane and lands in-line with the plate. Gets over the front side well with extension. Full follow through and athletic finish.
Arm Action: RH. Throws with a full arm circle from a high three-quarter slot with easy effort.
FB: T74 mph, 70-73 mph. Showed the ability to hit spots on both sides of the plate. Slight arm-side run with an average 1978 rpm per TrackMan.
CB: 61-64 mph. Shorter 12/6 shape with an average spin rate of 1637 rpm per TrackMan.
CH: 67-69 mph. Slight fade action.
Preseason All-State Session III
Positional Profile: 3B/RHP
Body: 6’3”, 170 pounds. Long, lanky, athletic body type.
Hit: RHH. Hits from an upright, balanced, slightly open stance. Medium leg kick load and short to the ball with a slightly uphill swing path. Showed lightning quick hands and fast bat speed through the zone. Stays behind the ball well, generating solid lower half involvement. Great extension through the zone and past contact finishing strong with two hands. Nice middle to pull side approach, consistently connecting with hard line drives to the gaps and alleys.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Ball explodes off the bat. Power and strength to the pull side present with more developing.
Arm: RH. INF - 75 mph. Short arm action from a mid to high three quarter slot.
Defense: Works through the ball with relaxed and active feet. Shows soft hands, fielding the ball out in front and funneling it to the belt. Shows good range side to side with clean exchanges.
Run: 4.37 home-to-first time.
MD MoCo Fall Review
Athletic body type and projectable 6’3’’, 170 pound frame with room to fill out. Hits from a balanced, open stance at the plate. Smooth back load with a small leg kick. Stays behind the ball well with a short, level swing path that gets slightly uphill at times. Generates quick bat speed through the hitting zone with some lower half involvement. Gets excellent extension through contact and showed nice balance throughout the swing finishing with one hand. Worked gap-to-gap squaring up several balls and showed some present power. Recorded an 84 mph exit velocity. Moves well in the infield at third base and works through the ball. Athletic set-up fielding the ball out in front and gains ground on throws. Throws with long arm action from a mid three-quarter slot at 72 mph across the diamond. Ran a 7.43 60-yard time. Controlled side-step wind-up and leg kick into a tall, relaxed balance point. Down-to-out lower half drive off the rubber landing slightly closed to the plate with an athletic finish. Gets over front side well with really nice extension. Throws with shorter arm action from a high three-quarter slot with regular effort. Loose arm and creates quick arm speed through release. Pounded the zone with a fastball that sat 70-71 mph and a breaking ball was 61-63 mph with shorter 12/6 shape. Also threw a change-up that showed slight fade ranging 64-67.
