Marmol is lengthy, unique left-handed pitcher. He has a clean and efficient delivery with minimal effort. His arm action is long and loose before releasing the ball from a low ¾ slot. His fastball had significant life and run in addition to command to either corner of the plate. His breaking ball had a 10-4 sweeping shape that consistently finished low in the zone. Marmol showed pitchability and feel for getting right and left handed hitters out.
6.3.17 (NY)- Lean 5-foot-11, 160 pound left-hander with a solid frame. Fluid delivery, clean arm action from a tough low angle for LHH; fastball at 76-79 MPH (up 2 MPH since February) has late, arm-side run, tight breaking at 62-67 MPH has 10-to-4 shape, induced weak contact as batters struggled to match. Pitchability is there and can crossover to get RHH hitters out with his late arm side movement.
2.12.17 - Marmol has an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound frame. He has smooth delivery with swinging leg lift. He has a loose arm with cross-body lines. He has side arm to low ¾ release. He jumps at hitters. His fastball is 76-77 with run and sink. His breaking ball was a sweeping 10/4 shape at 58-62. His change-up has good action at 67-68. From his arm slot he should be able to create more movement with his fastball and will probably need to develop a hard slider to be more effective at the next level.
6.14.16 - Build up delivery throwing from a ¾ arm slot with average arm speed. Has a longer, sound arm action. Gets some lower half usage and lands slightly closed with a square finish. Pitches with regular effort. Fastball has arm side run to the pitch at 74 mph. Breaking ball showing 1/7 shape with gradual break on the pitch at 59 mph. Changeup has run on the pitch at 65 mph.
