5-foot-11, 180 athletic prospect. Western Michigan commit Dunn is regarded as one of the top overall athletes in the state. He participates in four varsity sports and excels on an All State level. Behind the plate has fast hands showing it on a quick hand to glove transfer. His quick feet and strong arm allow him to throw darts down to 2B. In the infield works well through the ball fielding deep taking a couple steps and firing from a high 3/4 arm angle. At the plate has a balanced stance using a slight leg lift load swinging with a short quick cut. Has good power and can hit anywhere in the order. On the mound has a calm motion looking down as he pivots. Fastball has cut action sitting 85-89 mph. A late breaking sharp slider 77-80 mph and 72-73 sinking change up.

Solidly built 5-foot-11, 180-pound athlete; switch-hitter who can play multiple positions on the field; super-utility type. A primary catcher, features highly athletic feet behind the plate, fires out the chute well, quick release; registered pop times between 2.04-2.14, 77 mph out of the crouch. Excellent blocker in game action, active feet, soft hands receiving. Athleticism plays in middle infield, above-average range, solid carry across the infield at 86 mph. Ran a 6.73 laser-timed 60. … Switch-hitter, balanced, simple approach from both sides. Stronger contact from the right side (90 mph exit velocity from right, 80 from left); looser swing, more aggressive lower half. Handsy approach from the left side.

Dunn has an athletic 5-foot-11, 180-pound build. He is a switch-hitter and shows good bat speed from both sides of the plate. He also shows raw power from both sides and good rhythm with a simple approach while showcasing the ability to hit from the right and left sides of the plate. His exit velocity as a left-handed hitter was 80 mph while his exit velocity from the right side was 87 mph. He ran the 60-yard dash in 6.71. Behind the plate, he shows quick, athletic feet with a smooth, quick transfer. His pop times were 1.89-1.94 and he had a velocity of 83 mph down to second base.

5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect. Two way threat that played 5 positions during the weekend. Stood out on the mound, delivering a 3/4 86-88 mph FB touching 89 mph with effort.  A late breaking slider is his go to out pitch at 76-78 mph along with a sinking 75-76 mph change up. Ran a 6.75 60 yard dash. Used little to no stride with a short cut displaying pull power hitting a couple balls out during BP. 89 mph exit velocity. Popped a 2.01- 2.06 using quick feet and a fast release.

5-foot-10, 175 pound muli-tool athletic prospect. ¾ quick arm slot, competes and throws strikes with all three pitches. Fastball 82-86 mph, curveball with hard late break at 60-75 mph, and change-up with good sink at 73-76 mph. Excellent skills blocking and receiving behind the plate with quick transfers allowing for a pop time of 1.89-2.01. Good actions at shortstop with his glove and footwork, threw 88 mph across the infield. Ran a 4.40 home to first. No stride with quick short bat path with good extension through the baseball. Bat speed registered at 85 mph.

2/15/14
5-foot-10, 165 pounds with an athletic frame.  Young 2017 two way prospect that shows plenty of potential on the mound. The right hander throws through a high 3/4 slot with short arm action.  Features impressive arm speed, and an easy effort delivery.  His top pitch is his 83-87 mph fastball that displays some late life in the zone.  Off-speed pitches are still continuing to develop.  The 11/5 breaking ball sits between 65-66 mph with some late breaking action.  Arm speed on the curveball tends to slow.  His 67-68 mph changeup displays arm-side run while being thrown at near fastball arm speed.  Definitely a guy to keep an eye on.  Registered a 7.06 60 yard dash time.  Offers tools in his game as a position player as well.  In the infield, he features soft hands, and a clean exchange.  Topped out at 78 mph on throws to first.  Also caught, featuring a quick arm and recording pop times between 2.05-2.08.  At the plate, he uses a wide setup with short stride.  Uses a short compact swing with level swing path.  Linedrive production.  Power will add as he continues to mature physically.  Reached a top exit velocity of 88 mph off the tee. 

1/4/14
5-foot-10, 155-pound prospect athletic frame. Showed the ability to play multiple positions. On the mound, he shows a steady tempo to his delivery with some quickness in his arm. His fastball sat at 82-83 mph and bumped to 85 on a couple of occasion. Good direction, but requires some effort. He showed command of a 65-66 mph curveball with some depth as well as a 73-75 mph slider. Also displayed a 70-72 mph changeup with some arm side run. Behind the plate, he shows balance in his stance with some quickness in his hands and feet. Uses short arm action. Reached a top velocity of 70 mph from the crouch with pop times between 2.00 to 2.13. In the infield, he projects best as a second base type, but with continued physical development, he could play on the left side. Throws from low ¾ arm slot with top velocity of 73 mph across the infield. Shows some softness in his hands.  At the plate, the right-handed hitter starts in a wide stance. Doesn’t use a stride. Rotational type hitter with his lower half. Small load with level to slight uphill path. Generated solid, consistent contact. Top exit velocity of 75 mph. Ran a 7.07 60.

2/9/13 
Blake Dunn is only an 8th grader but he stands at 5-foot-10, 155-pounds.  Dunn worked out both in the infield and as a catcher.  His best pop time was 2.35. At the plate he showed some balance and a good lower half.  It is a matter of time for Dunn to grow into his body and add strength.

2020 DRAFT:Strong bodied and quick twitch at 5-foot-11, 205 pounds, Dunn is a 70-gade athlete and physically resembles Major Leaguer Cole Calhoun. Dunn was a catcher as a prep, but has since moved to center field where his plus-plus speed plays from gap to gap. He's a solid average defender with an above average arm. He must reduce his strikeout rate (25% in 2019 Cape Cod) while improving his power, and was off to that type of start in 2020 with six extra base hits and just 12 strikeouts in 69 plate appearances (17% K rate) to go along with 11 stolen bases in 13 attempts. Overall, there aren't too many athletes of his caliber in college baseball. In that regard, he reminds of former Bradley outfielder Max Murphy who was selected in the 9th round in 2014 by the Minnesota Twins. Look for Dunn to be considered around the fifth round.

8/13/19:Stocky, athletic 6-foot, 205-pound center fielder who plays the game hard. Bears some physical resemblance to Kole Calhoun (beard and all).Will show above average-to-plus raw power to his pull side during batting practice, but his game is more oriented toward speed (14 SBs) than power production (5 XBHs in 150 Cape at-bats) at this stage. Aggressive, intelligent base runner who makes things happen with his plus to better speed. Solid average defender with above average arm. Gets good reads and jumps. Runs it down for plus range in center field. Made hard contact against fastballs and sliders alike in my looks, but the strikeout rate was high overall (25%). Day Two follow for 2020. (Seifert)
