Two way player shut the door on the mound working a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout to close out the game. Pounds the zone on the mound with a two pitch mix. Fastball was up to 84 MPH with armside run paired with a curveball with 11-5 break 71-74 MPH.
Pitching: On the tall right hand pitcher showed a toe tap pivot throwing with a fast arm. Easy arm action throwing downhill with command. Curve shows a hard late break on a 12/6 plane. Shows a good feel for the curve. Change up has good large sink and arm speed similar to the fastball. High follow.
Hitting: At the plate a strong physical hitter showed big time power crushing balls out the yard. Top hand release while getting is back leg involved. Fast hands at the plate.
Fielding: In the of moves aggressively towards the ball staying low, fields off his left leg showing a strong accurate arm.
Pitching: On the mound has his glove high covering his eyes taking a step left throwing downhill with late run on the pitch. Fastball was easy out the hand showing late life sat 80-82 mph . 12/6 curve 66-67 mph.
6-foot-2, 185 pound long athletic prospect showed clean actions in the field, catching off his front leg moving to a crow hop and throwing with quick throwing motion. At the plate squared up the ball with power to the middle of the diamond. High follow
5-foot-8, 165 pound prospect was one of our youngest participants. Set up in a balanced stance with a crouch keeping his hands in a loaded position. Used a leg lift load, swinging slightly uphill showing advanced power. 78 mph exit velocity. Moves well around 3B with good lateral mobility. On the mound he works from an upbeat tempo accelerating upon delivery. Throwing from a high ¾ arm angle fastball sat 65-69 mph, with a big breaking 11/5 curve 57-60 mph. Showed a sinking change up at 57 mph.
2017 Junior Future Games
Lanky, athletic frame, right-handed pitcher. On the mound, short quick arm action, high ¾ slot, quick rhythm, rocks and goes, lands square. Pounds the zone with a three-pitch arsenal. Fastball, glove-side command, 75-77 mph. Curveball, 12/6 shape, 63-67 mph. Cut-fastball effectively mixed in, deceptive movement.
