Cox has a strong 6-foot, 215-pound build. On the mound, he throws from a high-3/4 arm slot with a long, loose arm action and easy effort with his delivery. His fastball sat 81-83 mph, some having cutting action and some having sinking action. His curveball had late 1/7 action that was thrown with fastball arm action and sitting 72-74 mph. He showed the ability to repeat his delivery and command both pitches in the strike zone.

Cox has a 5-foot-11, 220-pound frame with a strong lower half. He has a long, loose arm action and throws from a high-3/4 slot and has an effortless delivery. His fastball sat 82-84 with good arm side run. His changeup was thrown with good arm speed and it sat 79-80 mph with good depth. His curveball had 1/7 break to it and showed sharp, late break and sat 74-76 mph. He showed a strong ability to repeat his delivery and pound the strike zone with all three pitches.
