Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 83 mph; showed fluid smooth feet, a packing exchange, and soft hands. Uses his glove out front. Athletic capable on the mound, showing quick good arm speed he used a quick short arm action with an over-the-top high ¾ arm angle. Stretch only type pitcher who shows some effort. Has an athletic consistent balance point with even in line shoulders. Lands square with upright an athletic finish. (Max spin 2465; Avg 1911).
Carter Perry: SS/RHP, (2024) Grand Rapids West Catholic, MI. 5-foot-10, 148-pound. Capable during batting practice, Perry's best exit velocity was 77 mph. Began in a crouched balanced stance with a compact load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed is efficient, has a level short swing plane and good extension on his finish. Line drive gap to gap approach. Capable in the infield, his best throw was registered at 82 mph; had choppy in control footwork, a packing exchange, and soft hands. Glovework was used out front. Created some loud contact and found a few barrels. Up the middle approach. Smooth confident while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 80 mph; has smooth in control feet, a clean exchange, and soft consistent hands. Laterally, movements were average and fielded the ball out front. The athletic recruit showcased his speed with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.98. On the mound, used a quick short arm action with a high ¾ arm angle while showing quick good arm speed. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows easy effort. Has an athletic balance point and downhill shoulders. Lands square with an athletic balanced finish. Changeup (73-74 mph). Sat with his fastball at 76-78 mph and topped out at 79 mph; shows both sides of the plate command and slight running action with tight movement. (Max spin 1903; Avg 1709).
