6/17/14 6-foot-2, 196 pound athletic catching prospect. Quick footwork and transfer allow for a 1.91-2.08 pop time. Receives and sways to pitches well. Blocking needs to quicken up to get to balls. Ran a 4.24 home to 1st. Open stance to an open stride with good pop to pull side. Creates tremendous bat speed at 90 mph.
2/15/14 6-foot-2, 190 pounds with an athletic frame. Clocked in a 7.59 60 yard dash time. Offers some tools behind the plate, and in the batter’s box. Using a high 3/4 slot with short arm action, Zabonick recorded impressive pop time splits between 2.03 and 2.07. Quick transfer and release. Topped out at 76 mph. At the plate, the right handed hitter uses a slightly open stance with short stride. Swing path tends to be a bit long, but is able to create substantial power potential. Swing tends to be stiff. Reached a top exit velocity of 87 mph.

Good lower half led to good bat speed. Developing power potential.
