'20 1B Nathan Brennan for Great Lakes is a big body kid that will keep growing. Consistently squares up the ball with power potential. Can play both corner positions with average glove.
6-foot-4, 230-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 8.15 runner. Square stance, slight body load, uphill path through contact, looks to lift baseball, fly ball hitter with mid/pull approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Sound fielder at position, makes routine plays, big target at first, makes accurate throws, 68 mph arm across infield. On mound; rocker step into short leg swing, short arm action, pushes ball to plate, lands inline with catcher. Fastball was 77-79 mph with slight running action to plate. Loopy break on 11/5 curveball for strikes. Changeup is straight with avg. fade and sink.
6-foot-3, 210-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.95 runner. Open stance, rolling hand load, strides square, solid present strength, stiffer swing through contact, tends to roll hands over early, pull approach, 83 mph exit velocity. Higher fielding positon, fields routine, solid receiver at bag, 71 mph arm strength across infield. On mound; short tuck and turn into balance point, long one piece casting arm action, swings down mound and lands inline with catcher. Fastball was 72-74 mph with varying action to plate. 12/6 curveball has early break with bigger shape. Turns changeup over creating solid fade on slight downhill plane.
