Ruiz is a 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 5.00 home to first and has an 85 mph exit velocity, at the plate, balance stance, quiet hands, loads with toe tap, quick in line stride, hands control the barrel, middle of the field approach, slight lift to bat path.  On the infield, 75 mph positional velocity, fluid footwork to the ball, one shuffle of the feet before release, high three quarters arms lot, clean transfers with mostly accurate throws.

6/12/18 - Ruiz is an athletically built 6-foot 175-pound right-handed hitting second baseman and right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2020 class.  He ran a 7.55 60 and a 4.98 home to first.  He has an 83 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth shift to back side, toe tap to stride, level path, gap to gap line drives.  On the infield, high three quarters arms action, soft hands, clean exchange, momentum with feet to throw after the catch, mostly accurate throws, 73 mph positional velocity. On the mound, Ruiz has a controlled delivery, works from an over the top arm slot, in line stride with athletic finish, repeats delivery, fastball up to 79 mph, working mostly 74-76 mph, throws for a strike, breaking ball has gradual 11-to-5 shape, 68-70 mph, commanded change up at 68-71 mph, slight late sinking action.

At the plate, starts in a wide stance, loads into back side, reverse toe tap, level path through he zone, gap to gap contact during batting practice.  On the infield, 69 mph positional velocity, high three quarters release, momentum with feet after catch, fluid footwork to the ball, clean exchange, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Ruiz has an over the top arm slot, in line stride, controlled tempo, athletic finish, fastball at 66-68 mph, throws change up with near fastball arm speed, 63-64 mph, some with slight sink.
