6/7/16 - Evans is a 6-foot-1 200-pound right-handed hitting outfielder from Park Hill South HS in the Kansas City area.  He ran a 7.21 60 and a 4.84 home-to-first.  He has an 89 mph exit velo, one of the top for the event.  At the plate, thin stance with controlled leg lift, loose hands, middle to pull approach, body under control during swing, squared up a ball to left field for a double in game action.  In the outfield, 83 mph positional velo, one of the top outfield velos for the event, loose over the top arm action, quick glove to hand transfer and release, momentum through the catch, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Evans has an over the top release, attacked hitters with fastballs up to 83 mph, working 78-83 mph, breaking ball has late 11-to-5 action at 69-72, sharp, showed a knuckleball at 72-74 mph, throws for a strike, sinking action, he has smooth rhythm, body stays under control, and throws with regular effort.

10/18/14 - Evans is a lean, 6-foot-1 170-pound right-handed hitting outfielder.  High ¾ arm slot, works behind ball, quick exchange and footwork, fluid footwork, accurate throws. Offensively, has power to pull side, quick bat speed, level path to extension, gap-to-gap approach, consistent quality contact during batting practice, 83 mph exit velo. Improved exit velo and positional velo since last event. Evans has an over-the-top arm slot and smooth rhythm in his delivery.  He throws with regular effort and stays in line towards the plate. Fastball at 76-80 mph, slight run, curveball at 65-69 mph, 12-to-6 action.  Evans threw a high percentage of strikes during his inning of work.

10/18/14 - Evans is an lean, athletic 6-foot-1 170-pound right-handed pitcher.  Evans works 77-82 mph with is fastball, showing increase in velo since last event, fastball has life with run, high ¾ release, easy effort, quick/loose arm action, long arm swing from glove to release, 11-to-5 curveball at 68-69 mph, good command of change-up at 65-69 mph, arm side release.  Works fastball and change-up in zone, smooth rhythm with good tempo between pitches, Evans is on upward trend showing increase in velocity and command since last event.

6/4/14 - Evans is an athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound RHP. He throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has good run on his fastball. His fastball velo ranged from 75-77 MPH. His curveball has 11/5 shape with a 65-69 MPH range. Jake's change-up came in at 62-64 MPH.

6/4/14 - Evans is an athletic 6-foot-1, 165-pound right hand hitting outfielder. He moves well and gets good reads. Jake gets good carry on his throws and was mostly accurate. His position velo was 74 MPH. At the plate, he starts with a balanced setup and a smooth load. He gets good drive from his lower half and stays balanced through the swing. Jake's bat speed is above average and keeps a level bat path. His exit velo was 73 MPH.
