(7/19/12) Jones is a long and lanky 6-foot-1, 180-pound left-handed pitcher who showcased command of three pitches.  Operating from a ¾ arm slot, Jones is loose and has deception on the backside, as he threw a heavy 79-81 mph fastballs with sink.  Jones also impressed with his off-speed pitches, including a 67-68 mph curveball that showed sharp two-plane break, and a 72-74 mph changeup with late arm side run. 

(6/20/11) Columbia Top Prospect (2011)The athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound left-hander consistently threw strikes with all three pitches. Jones came from a high three-quarter slot with a fastball that topped at 82 mph. He also had a good feel for his change and curveball with good depth and tight spin. Jones works down in the zone, and all three pitches he threw with confidence.
