Perkins is a long, athletically built 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect with arm strength and considerable upside. On the mound, Perkins featured a loose, whippy arm; he topped out at 82 mph with, it seems, a lot more in the tank. At shortstop, Perkins moves fluidly and had soft hands and accurate throws across the diamond. While hitting, Perkins showed a short compact swing, with above average bat control, and showed glimpses of being able to hit for power.
